Background

Sister Jude had taken a lot of Super 8 film back in the late 60s and early 70s. We all looked like hippies back in the day. A lot of it was backyard parties. I was thinking of putting this in a film of some sort cause it would be too boring to just look at it like a home movie. I thought of the Woodstock documentary and bought a copy. It was tough to watch (kind of dated) but there were some good parts. It looked like I could blend in our backyard clips with the Woodstock clips. I used the dual screen setup that was in a lot of the original movie. I wound up throwing everything in. Some of it was a stretch but what the hell, the audience (our old hippie friends) probably wouldn't be too discerning.

During the documentary, they interviewed some of the townspeople that were being invaded by the hippies. I had the idea that I could interview our friends who are now old and could be substituted for the townspeople in the documentary. Sister Jude got the ball rolling by doing some of the interviews. I wrote a lot of silly dialog. Our friends didn't know why they were being interviewed but thankfully were very cooperative.

We showed it at a Christmas party and everyone seemed to enjoy it, especially the parts they were in.
