Synopsis
Loosely based on Dante's Inferno, this is a subway ride
through another dimension. An underground journey that
reveals a labyrinth whose passages are the circles of hell.
Look for the light at the end of the tunnel.
Background
I was trying to think up yet another story I could do about the Subway. Going underground, in my mind, allows me to pull the plug on reality. After discarding a few ideas, I remembered Dante's Inferno. Having read it in high school I didn't remember much, but just enough to think it might be worthwhile pursuing. Using subway stops as an opening to each of the Circles of Hell. Sure, why not? From there it was just a matter of what to put in each Cirle. Celebrities, movie references, artwork, etc were all fair game. How about different colors for each Circle? Check! How about the Oculus? Check!
