Synopsis
This early film was found buried (intentionally?) in MGM's Archives. Historians restored and unwittingly shared it publicly. The film reveals a sinister alien plot to overtake Manhattan.
Background
I was strongly influenced by Fritz Lang's film, Metropolis. I wanted to make an early era science fiction film about New York complete with artifacts including Film grain, film shake and flicker. I used clips from 1950's science fiction films including 'The Day the Earth Stood Still', 'Plan 9 from Outer Space', 'Starman', 'Automatic Motorist' and others. I also integrated the other-worldly Oculus and Vessel from NYC. Since it had a 1950's theme I incorporated some commercials of that time. And also what better representative of the 1950's than Marilyn Monroe. I put all the above ingredients together, shaked and baked and there you have it.
