Synopsis
Vincent, a tortured artist, has plunged into a state of psychosis and lurks beneath the water's surface. His submerged canvas textures jump to life mirroring his manic state of mind, while he tries to escape his troubles from within.
Background
I tried to do a film about the Bridges of NYC. I had lots of footage but at best it was just a montage. The real story was in the water (Bridge over Troubled Water). Why was the water troubled ? A troubled artist below ? Who knew Van Gogh was lurking beneath the surface of the East River. He had lots of issues and was trying to deal with them as best he could. This film sort of documents that latter part of his life. Musically, I used a couple of Philip Jeck pieces. Managed to get into a bunch of NYC film festivals.
